Finding Vivian Maier Trailer Gives Us a Look at Reclusive Female Street Photographer of the 1950’s and Her Amazing Photographs

When Chicago real estate agent John Maloof bought photos taken in the 1950’s by an amateur photographer and discovered the amazing treasure trove of photographs of 1950’s New York and Chicago and their inhabitants, he immediately set out to track down the photographer, Vivian Maier.  In the process, her photographs caught the attention of street photographers and the public for their ability to capture fascinating people and moments in time.  Maloof eventually discovered that Maier had died at the age of 83 in 2009, without anyone ever discovering her amazing talent, and he went on to create a Kickstarter campaign to document her story and learn more about her life.  Maier’s photographs can be seen at the website dedicated to her works, while the movie will focus on how a reclusive nanny hid her passion for photography from the world, but managed to capture so much of it.
