There are a lot of reasons to be excited for the dark comedy Addicted to Fresco.
First of all, Fresno is a welcome change from the small, thankless roles that we keep seeing Judy Greer in this summer. She won Best Actress at Outfest for her role as Shannon, a sex-addict who returns to her hometown and falls into lots of conflict involving a dead body, dildos, and some other pandemonium with her sister Martha, played by Orange Is the New Black‘s Natasha Lyonne. The rest of the cast, Molly Shannon, Aubrey Plaza, Clea DuVall, Allison Tolman, Jessica St. Clair, and Kumail Nanjiani is also looking pretty awesome.
Secondly, Fresno is one of two films Gamechanger, a for-profit company that finances female-directed films, premiered at the SXSW festival (the second being The Invitation).
The film, distributed by Gravitas Ventures, will be on demand in September and released in theaters October 2nd. Will you be checking it out?
