Obama invited Ahmed Mohamed back in September to bring his homemade clock to the White House, and last night Ahmed finally got a chance to meet the Prez in person (alongside astronauts and NASA scientists!) at the White House’s second-ever Astronomy Night.
Although Ahmed’s busy travel schedule prevented him from bringing his clock to Astronomy Night (Ahmed and his family arrived in DC straight from Sudan, where he met with the Sudanese president on Wednesday), Ahmed did have a chance to chat with the POTUS briefly and hear the President’s speech Monday evening.
During the event, Ahmed–who was wearing a NASA shirt when he was arrested at his school in September–also had the chance to meet astronauts like Alvin Drew and John Grunsfeld, and examine rock samples from Mars and the Moon alongside NASA personnel.
