Here Are All of Peacemaker’s Powers and Abilities

Is being a himbo considered a superpower?

Peacemaker on HBO Max is the amazing show no one saw coming. When the titular character first appeared in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, he seemed rather one-dimensional. A patriotic tough guy who would kill anyone who stood in the way of peace. Because that makes sense.

Yet Peacemaker became the first character in the DCEU movieverse to have his own live-action television series. The HBO Max original show offers a deep dive into the character. Fans get to see Peacemaker in action, taking out bad guys. Lots of ’em. So let’s go over all of Peacemaker’s powers and abilities.

Played masterfully by John Cena, Peacemaker lacks any kind of otherworldly powers. He is like Batman, where a traumatic childhood shaped him. They also both rely on weapons and gadgets to aid them in their crime-fighting. That is where the similarities end.

Having an abusive father pushed Peacemaker both physically and emotionally. Auggie Smith, also known as the racist and homophobic villain the White Dragon, pushed Peacemaker to become just like him. As a child, Chris Smith, Peacemaker’s real name, studied various fighting methods to hone his skills.

Besides hand-to-hand combat, Peacemaker learned how to use many weapons. He is an expert with most firearms, explosives, archery, and swords. Basically, give him a weapon and he can kill with ease. And as silly as his helmet looks, it provides another layer to his armor or weaponry. In the show, he has used helmets with sonic blast powers and x-ray vision.

Although Peacemaker may appear less than brilliant at times, he has vital hidden talents. His vast military training shaped his tactical mind to analyze and assess situations before attacking. Because of his large physique, he intimidates others into giving him information without the use of force. His indomitable will keeps him focused on missions, making sure he finishes them at any cost. There is no claim to how well his missions go, or how many bystanders get injured, but he tries. He has the tools to get any job done.

Also, he’s a skilled piano player — not every superhero can say that.

Through the series, Peacemaker has undergone a lot of personal growth. He is still a patriotic tough guy himbo, but he is also more than that. Peacemaker uses his peak physical condition and weapon mastery to fight for those who need help. Even if he doesn’t have any superpowers, he is still the messy bisexual hero who stole our hearts.
