If you don’t think the casual gaming market is, unfortunately, the wave of gaming’s future, Rovio has something to say about that. Their suicidal bird franchise, Angry Birds, has now been downloaded over one billion times. To put some perspective on that number, the human population was estimated to finally hit seven billion. Rovio made a little cartoon for everyone saying thanks, which you can check out below.
It’s worth noting that the one billion downloads number doesn’t apply to the original and singular Angry Birds, but applies to the franchise as a whole, including new sequel Angry Birds Space, as well as sort-of expansion Angry Birds Seasons, movie tie-in Angry Birds Rio, and the oft-forgotten Angry Birds Halloween.
Do you have Angry Birds? Considering those one billion downloads, there’s a pretty good chance.
