I wish we didn’t have to start and end the day with news about a death, but sadly, popular film, TV, and theater actress Anne Meara has passed away of natural causes at the age of 85.

In addition to being the wife (and frequent performance partner) of actor, Jerry Stiller, and the mom of actors Ben and Amy Stiller, Meara has had a long, successful career in the industry herself. You’ve seen her in a million things, from TV shows like The King of Queens and Archie Bunker’s Place, to films like Night at the Museum and Zoolander. She was nominated for an Emmy as well back in 1975 for a short-lived series on which she starred on CBS called Kate McShane.

RIP, Ms. Meara. Thank you for the great performances, and for all the laughs.
