Astronauts Go Ape, Chase Each Other Through the International Space Station in Gorilla Suit

Scientists in space have to combat tedium in one way or another, right? Astronaut Scott Kelly’s preferred method apparently involves strapping on a gorilla suit and chasing around the other scientists aboard the International Space Station. Honestly, after spending a record-setting amount of time in space, I’d be looking for new ways to have fun, too.

Here’s the thing about this video and what’s happening: someone had to have taken that gorilla suit by some space agency’s scientists, right? I’m pretty darn sure that every bit of cargo sent up to the ISS has to be meticulously examined, analyzed, logged, and recorded somewhere. So am I right in assuming that somewhere, in some space agency’s computer, there’s a space shuttle launch manifest that reads “one (1) Gorilla Suit”?

But really, who cares? What matters is that there’s someone with a gorilla suit on the ISS. That’s the farthest a man in a gorilla suit has ever been. No person in a gorilla suit can ever hope to beat that record for some time, now.

Way to go, Kelly. Keep racking up those accolades!
