Why Is Steve Rogers Wearing His Old Avengers Helmet?

There’s a new Captain America figure in town, and it brings a lot of questions, especially what this old helmet means. There has already been a lot of talk about the Avengers using the Quantum Realm to go back in time and fix the mistakes that led up to Thanos gaining control of the gauntlet, but that theory is a little messy.

Messing with time isn’t easy, and it can disrupt a whole series of events, but looking at the 2012 helmet that Steve Rogers wore in The Avengers that seems to be a part of this new Endgame era figure … we may be getting the time-traveling adventure we’ve all been talking about.

It may be that the Steve Rogers we see in The Avengers isn’t the same 2012-era Steve we thought we were getting.

But we still don’t know exactly what that time travel plan is. Is it telling their past selves what they have to do to stop Thanos. Tony will go back and stop the rift between himself and Steve Rogers. They’ll fix the mistakes they made (and I swear, if Bruce Banner goes back and sees Ed Norton, I will truly lose my mind).

But what is important is to note that this doesn’t mean that going back in time is going to result in Steve Rogers ending up with Peggy Carter (a somewhat popular theory). Because … honestly, you’re telling me that Steve Rogers just goes back in time and lets Bucky Barnes be the Winter Soldier and never tries to help his best friend? Really?

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters this April 26th and we’ll see what happens with our favorite hero but, until then, we can hope we’ll survive…right?
