Baskin-Robbins, famous for its 31 flavors of ice cream, does occasionally have to mix it up a bit. Flavors like Charlie Brownie, 2001 Spice Odyssey, and the improbably named The Mask “Somebody Stop Me” Twist Ice have all come and gone. But among the non-standard flavors being retired today like Campfire S’mores, Apple Pie a La Mode, and Caramel Praline Cheesecake, one stands out.
French Vanilla.
That’s right. Hurry to your local store, because Baskin-Robbins isn’t shipping any more French Vanilla, ever.
Just don’t panic too much. Regular old plain Vanilla will still be there, the most unloved stripe in the carton of Neapolitan. But if your tastes run towards a stronger vanilla flavor, you’ll be out of luck.
Vanilla scandal aside, today is the company’s 65th anniversary, and they’re introducing five new flavors to replace the old ones, though they have not announced what the new flavors are. But hey, its Baskin-Robbins. They’ll give you a tiny pink spoon and let you try all of them.
