For those of us still panicking over the news that Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey after the latter asked for money for the investigation into the former’s ties to Russia (plus banning American media but allowing Russian journalists into his meeting with President Nixon’s former national security adviser Henry Kissinger as well as with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak), here’s a bit of fresh air.
Brave students from Bethune-Cookman came for Betsy “What is a public school? Are there bears?” DeVos as she accepted an honorary degree from the historically black university. She who is devoid of any practical knowledge of how to run a school full of children who aren’t trust fund babies was on hand to accept her unearned degree, as well as deliver an inspirational graduation speech. Yeah, why did anyone think this was a good idea?
What followed next was a series of much-deserved heckling in which one student literally told her to “Shut the fuck up.” Mind you, this is the same woman who compared choosing schools to switching phone carriers. Many booed, some showed their backs and the internet found one more thing to revel in.
Loud boos and some applause for Betsy DeVos as she receives her honorary degree. The boos at the mention of Trump’s name are deafening.

“Aw, shut the fuck up,” someone cries to cheers as DeVos speaks.

While this sounds great, I’d love to see the actual video from this … for research. Yeah, we’ll go with that. In the meantime, here’s my completely accurate Slack recounting of today’s events.
Thoughts?
UPDATE: A video has emerged and in it, students were threatened with not being able to walk.
Holy cow, #bethunecookman dean interrupts DeVos speech, threatens students "your degrees will be mailed to you!" They persist! pic.twitter.com/nkcqZrbXJ0
