You might wanna let up on that reboot fatigue. In non-Star Wars news today, it looks like we’re getting a Bride of Frankenstein reboot thanks to Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon.
According to Birth Movies Death, he’s in talks to direct an updated version of the 1935 film which, in my opinion, is the best one in the Universal horror movie franchise (come at me). But then again, I’m biased towards my fierce ladies with two-tone hair, so take my feelings with a grain of salt.
Plus, what’s not to love about such a meta project? The original film began with Lord Byron and Percy Shelley congratulating Mary Shelley on her kick butt monster story before jumping right into said topic of discussion. Then, we all know what happens from there … (Sparknotes version: Dr. Frankenstein creates a mate for his creature and chaos ensues.)
Should the project come to fruition, it would be part of the current reboot that’s preparing to release the Tom Cruise-led Mummy remake. I’m hoping this leads to an Avengers style crossover because the only thing better than a good monster flick is a good monster flick with multiple monsters. Think about it.  Or not and just bitch about Hollywood’s lack of creativity in the comments … whatever floats your boat.
