I still don’t know how I feel about Disney’s upcoming live-action Jungle Book remake, but wow, that cast list is getting ridiculous. Ridiculous, I say!
Yesterday, Disney announced that none other than the venerable Bill Murray will be joining the film as the voice of Baloo, better known as the best character in the original Jungle Book movie. He’ll be joining Christopher Walken (King Louie), Giancarlo Esposito (Akela), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Lupita Nyong’o (Raksha), Idris Elba (Shere Khan), and Scarlett Johansson (Kaa). It’s as if Disney heard us skeptically hrmm-ing over this movie, and decided to cast everyone we like in it.
The Jungle Book will hit theaters in October 2015. In the meantime, as “The Bare Necessities” is now hopelessly stuck in my head, I’m going to return the favor. You’re welcome.
