Netflix’s AR Black Mirror Cupcake Recipe Is Cute Until You Remember How That Episode Ended

Netflix Kitchen, perhaps most famous for their Stranger Things French Onion Barb Soup, has done it again with their augmented reality Black Mirror cupcakes.

The cupcakes themselves aren’t AR, so there’s a recipe in there that you can definitely use the next time you feel like baking chocolate cupcakes. The AR comes in the form of a gumpaste topper that turns into the gopher from Season 3’s “Playtest,” made possible by a collaboration with Zappar. Just don’t get so into it that you crush them at the end!

The short video is a cute counterpart to the eerie “Netflix Vista.” You know, until you remember that “Playtest,” directed by Dan Trachtenberg, was a scary episode about mental deterioration and horror games. Do you see yourself baking some Black Mirror cupcakes anytime soon?
