Black Panther week is finally upon us! Audiences will first get a look at Marvel’s latest offering on Thursday, but what should we expect other than Michael B. Jordan cosplaying Vegeta?

We already saw Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa/Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, but that movie had a lot going on and didn’t spend much time getting into what the hero is all about, let alone his real-world comic book roots. This movie will have all that and more, as laid out by the brief primer that Marvel has put together for a little background on some of what you’ve seen in trailers, which you can watch above.

In it, introductions are made for a few major players in addition to T’Challa himself, including Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger and the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-women elite fighting force that has already given us some inspiring imagery and promises to add an extra dimension to the ways this movie changes up the usual formula. The “mythology trailer” keeps things brief for the fans who aren’t necessarily up to speed on their comics history and are looking for some info to prepare themselves without getting too far into spoiler territory.

Production Designer Hannah Beachler also touches on where the movie’s visual influences come from, adapting the original imagery for the modern day. For more in that vein, there’s also a video wherein Costume Designer Ruth Carter talks about the inspiration for the outfits in the movie. A lot of thought and care went into Black Panther—resulting in its current 97% Rotten Tomatoes score and our own glowing review—and the long wait for the end product is almost over.
