If this is true and not just some weird prank that everybody in London fell for at once, then we’ve lost a real acting powerhouse. Though he’s been retired for a couple of years — his last big role was in Snow White in the Huntsman in 2012 —  he starred in a number of films that were pretty formative for most nerds of our generation, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Hook, Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, Mona Lisa (which got him a Best Actor nomination), and, yes, Super Mario Brothers, which he never stopped calling the worst thing he ever filmed. He will be greatly missed. Â
