Fox News Takes Bold Pro-“Boyfriend Jeans” Stance

Elissa Strauss wrote a piece over at The Week yesterday calling out the sexism of male-gendered clothing like “boyfriend jeans,” and today Fox’s Tom Shillue critiqued her article in a brain-numbingly sexist and transphobic round-table discussion. (Lowlights include Shillue and guests telling women to wear tight clothes if they want a boyfriend, and laughing uproariously at the thought of men in dresses. Cute stuff.)

I don’t really want to give Fox the attention it’s angling for here, but I think it’s important that shit-eating bigotry like this get called out, and to note misogyny is so strong within the network that protecting the male moratorium on loose denim actually warranted screen time.

I also don’t think that the onus should be on women to “stay silent until the problem goes away” when we see our humanity being insulted in segments like this. If you watch the video, godspeed; if not, here’s a summation:
