First things first, right? [Small Arrow spoilers] Deadline says Routh “will play Ray Palmer, a scientist and inventor who will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. In the DC Comics mythology, Palmer is known as The Atom, making Routh a two-time DC superhero. We hear the deal will span 14 episodes, and that he will be a love interest for Felicity.”

These comic adaptations certainly do like keeping it in house, don’t they?

In other Arrow news, TV Guide reports actor Peter Stormare (that guy you know from everything) is joining the show as Count Vertigo for at least the Season 3 premiere. You may remember the show already had a Count Vertigo, or The Count, previously who served as a drug lord. They write:

Werner [Zytle] is introduced as the new purveyor of the drug Vertigo, filling the role left vacant since the death of The Count (Fringe’s Seth Gabel) last season. Zytle, who will be the first villain that the team faces in Season 3, will go by the moniker Vertigo.

Meanwhile the Arrow himself has addressed rumors on his Facebook page of the possibility he’ll show up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Hey Guys — I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I’m going to be in Batman V Superman. I’m not going to be in Batman V Superman.

As an aside… The next time that I either do a video or an interview with a journalist that I like, I’ll be happy to explain why this is the case. Short form – it’s not a barometer on ability or the quality of genre – TV V Film, no pun intended. Everything here boils down to logistics. In any event… thank you for how much support you’ve showed me. But keep in mind, playing Arrow on television isn’t a consolation prize. We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe.

Thoughts on all the news?
