Brie Larson’s casting as Captain Marvel was confirmed over Comic-Con weekend, and now the actress is going to the source material itself to do some big-time research on the character.
Larson shared a photo to her Twitter account yesterday (although she did give photo credit where credit was due to her IRL partner, Alex Greenwald). Not only is Larson starting from the beginning–she’s reading Captain Marvel Vol. 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More by Kelly Sue DeConnick and David Lopez–but she’s already getting into character in her clothing as well, donning a Captain Marvel jacket which looks just like the right thing for some cozy afternoon comic reading:

One has to wonder if Larson’s been provided with the entire reading list for Captain Marvel–or maybe she’s not a completist like yours truly who has to read from the beginning. Either way, she’s picked a fantastic arc to start with. Larson’s also been positively interacting with fans on Twitter and sharing fanart since her casting was confirmed–even though we still have to wait a long time for her to make her first Marvel appearance, her excitement about this might just be enough to keep us sustained until Captain Marvel premieres in March 2019.
