What do you do with a broken laptop? Well, if you’re Pedro, you convert the LCD display into a nifty polarized art installation. The device is essentially a standard LCD display that’s been retrofitted to a frame and bled dry. Pedro removed the display from the laptop, of course, drained the liquid crystal fluid and fit the empty display to a picture frame, leaving a little room in between the two LCD display panes. The result is that, after re-rigging the backlight, you’re left with a little framed box in which you can place polystyrene and polycarbonate plastic items and enjoy the trippy polarized result.
If you have your own broken LCD screen you want to art-ify, you can hop over to Pedro’s blog where he details the process, step by step, with pictures.
