In the beginning, there was “Garfield Minus Garfield.” The comic series took real Garfield comics and made a slight, predictable alteration: removing Garfield from the comic altogether, leaving former owner Jon miserable, paranoid, and often talking to himself. Well, now that mental instability is spreading to our comic youth with “Calvin Minus Hobbes.”

This comic, rather than omitting Hobbes altogether, supposes he was simply just a stuffed animal by removing all his speech bubbles. In the end, we get a creepy, misunderstood little kid and an adorable stuffed tiger with odd teleporting abilities.

Even when he has no opponent, Calvin always seems to lose the argument.
