Add another sci-fi heroine to the stellar lineup for the final season of NBC‘s Chuck: Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Memento) will be joining the cast in a recurring role as a love interest for Adam Baldwin‘s character, John Casey. You might recall that last year, another lady action icon, Linda Hamilton, showed up as Chuck and Ellie’s estranged mother. We leaves us wondering why NBC couldn’t squeeze out another season just so Sigourney Weaver can come hang out and kick some ass at some point.

According to TV Line, Moss’s character, Gertrude Verbanski, is a former spy who now runs a business rival to Chuck and Sarah’s spy company.

She’s ruthless and deadly, yet she also has a weak spot for Casey, her old rival. The character was described in one casting breakdown as, “Miranda Priestly [from The Devil Loves Prada] meets Lara Croft, with a rather wicked sense of humor.”

The casting was revealed at Comic Con by Baldwin, who says that his character may have finally met his match — “or his love match”! Oooooooo, cue the live studio audience! Moss joins the amazingly geek-friendly guest star lineup that includes Mark Hamill and Craig Kilborn, plus a possible return by Hamilton.
