Last week, Fred Seibert, the founder of Frederator Studios (Adventure Time, The FairlyOddparents, Bee And Puppy Cat), gave hope to fans of the iconic game Castlevania with some not-so-subtle hints that an animated series might be in the works.
While a Castlevania film never quite panned out (that’s not to say fans didn’t make their own!), it was announced in 2015 that a mini-series based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse was on the way with Adi Shankar as producer. In an conversation on the Nick Animation podcast, Seibert teased this news:
We have a project now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years, that we’ve had in our shop for 12 years without being able to get it started. But there were great characters, and a great story, and we eventually got it going.
Of course, listeners quickly deciphered the not-so-vague description as the franchise just turned 30 in September. Are you excited to see an animated Castlevania?
