Grab your dog and gather round the ol’ computer– today we finally get to see what the highly anticipated multiplayer for Call of Duty: Ghosts will be like. The latest in the megaton series is coming this fall, and you can get your first look at how you’ll be playing it with your friends at right here.
If you missed the details about the single player campaign, it takes place after a yet-to-be-revealed disaster that severely weakens the United States. The story focuses on one soldier and his brother who are among the last American fighters–known as Ghosts– combating against hostile, resource rich nations. Unlike what the title suggests, the game has no ties to earlier games in the series or fan-favorite character Simon “Ghost” Riley.
And, of course, there’s the most unique addition to the series yet, the dog. You’ll be able to control your new best friend similarly to how you’d sometimes steer a drone in the last CoD game, Black Ops II. What kind of role the dog will play in multiplayer has yet to be seen.
All we know about the multiplayer thus far is that your character will be fully customizable, and maps will be more dynamic with hazards such as floods appearing midgame and changing the map’s landscape dramatically. We’ve yet to see any of this in action, though, so this reveal stream should be very enlightening.
In the meantime, check out the game’s advanced AI (I kid, I’m actually pretty darn excited to see what Ghosts has to offer):
(via Call of Duty)
- Get more hyped with the game’s reveal trailer
- The Kinect’s no longer mandatory for Xbox One
- Yet another person who will probably have a fit over the game’s virtual violence
