Start your morning off right with some great music. On Tuesday night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert invited the Violent Femmes on stage to sing a song or two to promote their new album, “I Can Do Anything.” One of the songs they recorded was this internet-exclusive video performance of the Violent Femmes’ classic “Blister in the Sun.” It’s great because it’s fully acoustic, complete with percussion being performed on a charcoal grill. Seems right, no?

The highlight of the video (besides the great performance) is when they invite Colbert to sing the iconic whispery/quiet part of the song that comes in at the end. He seems to be genuinely enjoying being up there with the band and it’s always super cool to see someone show off a talent that they don’t usually get to show off.

Seems like I’m on a Violent Femmes kick for the day, now. What’d you think of the video?
