We have a lot of little casting tidbits from the world of geek TV for you today. Come with me… and you’ll be… in a world of pure adaptation…
First up, Arrow. Season three is already giving us Mama Smoak, Wildcat, The Atom, a new Count Vertigo, Ra’s al Ghul, Maseo Yamashiro, and Katana, but that’s not enough, so we’re getting Manhunter too. Or Mark Shaw, the person who eventually becomes an incarnation of Manhunter, anyway. Via The Hollywood Reporter:
When the character makes his Starling City entrance, he will be an A.R.G.U.S. operative in Corto Maltese who crosses paths with Diggle. In comic lore, Mark has a connection to the Suicide Squad, as do Diggle and Oliver.
Shaw will be played by David Cubitt, previously of Medium. He’ll be a guest star in the third episode.
Meanwhile The Flash, Arrow‘s brother from another mother, is welcoming baddie Tony Woodward, aka Girder, to the fold. The yet-to-be-cast character will join previously announced villains Plastique and Captain Cold and will first appear in episode six.
And let’s finish up with the ladies: Justified‘s Joelle Carter has a guest role on Constantine as Jasmine Fell, a “beautiful but damaged ex-model and back-up singer,” according to TVLine. The tropes. And Aly Michalka, formerly of Easy A and a bunch of TV shows that make me feel old has replaced actress Alexandra Krosney as Peyton, main character Liv’s best friend and roommate, on iZombie.
We don’t have any new Gotham casting news to share with you, but I think we will soon, as the show still has villains it hasn’t cast. Who could be playing Zebra-Man?!
