Concrete Canvas, shown in the above video, is a special kind of cloth impregnated with concrete that when sprayed with water, hardens within 24 hours. A 25 square meter tent made of the fabric can be deployed by 2 people in less than 1 hour, making the material and process a quick and easy way to set up a sturdy emergency shelter. The cloth is inflammable, can be paired with a forced air unit and decontamination module to provide full spectrum chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear protection, and the official shelters are fitted with lockable doors.
The shelters can be covered in earth, sand or snow to up its thermal performance, as well as provide protection against small arms fire and shell fragments. The main uses of the Concrete Canvas Shelters are for quick deployment in disaster areas, providing an easy way to create a safe shelter, which can last over 10 years.
