DC/CW television crossovers are a blessing and a curse for me. I love them because I think that The Flash/Supergirl both have amazing universes, and the DC world just plain works better when they are allowed to play amongst each other without fear of who owns what property. However, it also means I have to pretend to care about Arrow for awhile, something I have successfully avoided since Laurel was killed off. Still, out of love for Barry and Iris, I will be strong and deal with it. Plus, the trailer looks epic.

Despite how I might feel about Arrow (and boy, do I feel a lot of things), it is still an incredible feat that a show about the Green Arrow managed to launch a more successful live-action DC universe than Man of Steel did with Superman. People are legitimately excited about seeing these characters together, and that is because the shows have worked hard to make sure that, whether it was love or hate, we felt something for these characters. If Warner Bros. feels salty about Justice League getting beat by the “B-team of Marvel,” they should recognize that it’s also being outdone by their own B-team.

Not to mention, we have a show that is this popular about fighting and taking down Nazis, which sadly in this political climate still feels really powerful, and I’m glad that, at least in the DC universe, Nazis are still solidly bad. I’m sure it will be especially powerful with a character like Felicity Smoak, who is a Jewish woman, as a big part of the crossover. Plus, since the villains of the episode are alt-world versions of The Flash, Kara, and Oliver, it makes for an interesting dynamic. How many will be forced to face their evil selves? To make angsty speeches about how “we’re the same you and I” or another cliche, amazingly dramatic line?

Plus, I did catch Alex and Sara both doing the action-girl leg split on their dresses. While pairing the queers is a tired trope, and I’m not saying that they should be a couple, some post-breakup flirting would be fun for Alex.

What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming crossover episode? It will be airing over two days, beginning Monday, November 27.
