Gird your loins. The Devil Wears Prada could be headed for Broadway and your earholes.

In an interview with the AP, Kevin McCollum revealed that as part of a contract he has to convert Fox movies into stage plays, he’s been working on an adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada for Broadway. You may know McCollum from some of his other works, including Avenue Q and Rent.

Many of the songs and lines from both of these musicals have found their way into our collective memories (“The Internet Is For Porn,” anyone?), so turning a movie like The Devil Wears Prada into a memorable favorite should be a slam dunk for him.

While some of the film’s lead cast have Broadway experience (The One, The Only, Stanley Tucci and The Ever Lovely Meryl Streep) and even more have musical movie experience (Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, plus the aforementioned stars), there’s no indication that they’ll be involved with the project.

Still, it’d be fun to think about, right?
