For those that have grown tired of the clickfest that is Diablo II, and have been patiently waiting twelve years for the next clicky installment in the venerable franchise, the wait will only be two more months. That’s right, Diablo III finally got an official release date: May 15, 2012.
If you aren’t into retail copies, you can digitally mosey on over and pre-purchase the digital copy now, which will become available for use right when the servers go live on May 15. For World of Warcraft players who are planning on playing Diablo III, you can still buy the WoW Annual Pass, which will not only get you one year of WoW, but a free digital copy of Diablo III, an exclusive in-game WoW mount, and access to the next WoW expansion, Mists of Pandaria, which has panda people.
For more information, head on over to Blizzard’s new Diablo III page, and be sure to bust out your pointer finger weights, as you’ll need to get in some exercise before you click a thousand times a minute for the next twelve years until Diablo IV. Just hold the button down already, will you?
