It fell under our radar a few days ago, but Ava DuVernay excitedly shared the news that Ramin Djawadi would be composing Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time adaptation on Twitter.

Starring newcomer Storm Reid, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, and Zach Galifianakis, the glimpses we’ve gotten of the film look amazing and lush. It’s exciting to hear that Djawadi, who’s done excellent work in sci-fi and fantasy scores for films and television (he’s a four-time Emmy nominee) is joining this amazing, groundbreaking team. The composer has created themes that are not only iconic, but distinct to each of the titles.

We can’t wait to see what his mind dreams up for the different personalities, times, and worlds of DuVernay’s film, especially when it comes to characters as magical as the immortal Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Who, and Mrs Which or the strange room that Chris Pine appears trapped in. Wrinkle in Time opens in U.S. theaters on March 9, 2018. Are you looking forward to hearing Djawadi’s score?
