Microsoft has opened up the beta version of Internet Explorer 9 for public download today, and it’s gotten pretty favorable marks from Wired and ComputerWorld for its speed and its stripped-down aesthetic. If you’d care to test it out, here’s the link:

Note that it won’t work on Windows XP, but is currently only available for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
