EA,oft-called the worst company in the world, has just done something really cool: They’ve teamed up with Humble Bundle to release some of their best games this generation for however much you want. Finally, a reason to actually use Origin!
The games you can buy for anything are Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Mirror’s Edge, Medal of Honor, Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, and Dead Space 3. If you pay more than the average– which is currently $4.55– you can also get Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 with its Starter Pack.
Noticeably omitted from the collection is Dead Space 2. Considering it’s on both Origin and Steam, it seems really weird that they wouldn’t add it in. Maybe they’re just waiting until later on, though, like they did when they added Metro 2033, Risen, and Sacred Citadel to the Humble Deep Silver Bundle.
The bundle made $1 million in only 2.5 hours after it was uploaded, the fastest to reach that mark yet according to the people behind Humble— despite the games come from not-so-humble origins.
As such, I can’t help but feel like this is a gut reaction by EA after GameStop’s decision to sell Xenoblade Chronicles and other “vintage” games for $90 and up, just to say “Hey, we’re not the bad guys anymore!” We’ll let the people decide that.

- EA’s also publishing that cool Tetris Monsters game, so maybe they are on the right track.
- Plus they came out in support of gay marriage, which is good.
- Call of Duty: Ghosts looks like stiff competition for the next Battlefield game
