Elden Ring, the new fantasy open world game from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment, has finally dropped, and players are eager to get their hands on it. What platforms is Elden Ring being released on? Will you be able to play it on Game Pass, X-Box’s subscription service? Let’s take a look.
Elden Ring takes place in a realm called the Lands Between, which is ruled over by the fearsome Queen Marika and her corrupted offspring. Each ruler possesses a Great Rune, one of the shards of the long-shattered Elden Ring. As the Tarnished, players must seek out the Great Runes and put them back together to form the Elden Ring in the hopes of overthrowing Queen Marika’s children and becoming Elden Lord. The game was created by Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Dark Souls, with its story co-written by Game of Thrones’ George R. R. Martin.
Elden Ring pays homage to the Souls series, Skyrim, and other open-world fantasies, with vast landscapes, rich visuals, an epic storyline, and plenty of dragons and other monsters to contend with. It currently has a 97% on Metacritic, with critics praising its adventurous storyline and exciting gameplay, so if you love fantasy RPGs, this is a game you’re going to want to get in on.
So How Can I Play It?
So far, Elden Ring has been released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be any plans for Elden Ring to come out on Game Pass, at least not right away. It’s worth noting that Souls games have traditionally not been available on Game Pass, so you’re not going to want to hold your breath on this one. With the phenomenal reviews coming in, though, it looks like Elden Ring will be worth the $59.99 price tag if you’re willing to pony up.
