I’m just going to jump into this one like Thomas jumps into making questionable decisions: There’s a Downton Abbey-themed sexcation, and everything about it sounds A M A Z I N G.
The fact that it’s hosted by a company called ShoesOnly.com? A M A Z I N G. That it’s called the “Pleasure Castle,” and the website (it’s a good time to mention that all links in this post, with the exception of the Exeter Express and Echo and Jezebel, below, are NSFW) instructs us to “think a sexy and erotic Downton Abbey”? A M A Z I N G. This sentence:
”Pleasure Castle is an erotic mix of midevil [sic] history, excitement, glamour and adventure.”
A M A Z I N G.
The Exeter Express and Echo first reported on the vacation event (“a very sexy XXX- Renaissance Fair unlike any seen before“), taking place at the Bovey Castle luxury resort from July 5-10, 2015. There’s golf, hiking, skeet shooting, and oh, “erotic events designed to transport you into an erotic world of pleasure and fantasy.” Including two “sexy playhouses,” one dungeon-themed. What would Lord Grantham say?!
But everything’s not sexy fun time in faux-Downton-land—one of the hotel’s leisure club members said, “I hope this isn’t a new direction for the hotel owners. I, for one, will be concerned about getting in the pool again afterwards.”
My absolute favorite bit from the Exeter story, however, is this:
“[ShoesOnly.com] is even offering a complimentary Devon afternoon cream tea for guests booking before September 30.”
I know that a “cream tea” is just a cream tea. But in the context of an erotic Downton Abbey sexcation, I just can’t help but wonder.
