Every Friday for #FollowFriday, we tell you about a person on Twitter whose tweets are full of awesome amazingness. This week we’ve got Film Crit Hulk. If you haven’t already been following him, then you need to get out from the rock you must be living under, because he’s been around for a while now and he is simply the best.
Who he is:Â In his bio for his Badass Digest column, Film Crit Hulk describes himself as the following:
FILM CRIT HULK WAS CREATED IN A CHAOTIC LAB EXPERIMENT INVOLVING GAMMA RADIATION, TELEPODS, AND THE GHOST OF PAULINE KAEL. NOW HULK HAVE DEEP AND ABIDING LOVE CINEMA.
Basically he’s a really insightful film and television commentator who also happens to write exclusively in all-capital letters with oddly constructed grammar, just like The Hulk would. He writes primarily for Badass Digest,  but he’s also been featured in The New Yorker and Entertainment Weekly — and he has his own blog, of course.
Why you should follow:Â
Film Crit Hulk’s feed basically defies every common rule of Twitter and does it in the best way possible. He constantly uses multiple tweets as a platform to ruminate on long, profound topics of cinema and pop culture, so oftentimes if you find him in the middle of a thought you have to go back and see where he started. But it’s always worth it, because his critical style is incredibly engaging — he’s always very passionate and naturally curious about his subjects, which makes for really entertaining reading.
In addition, Film Crit Hulk is always willing to talk out his opinions with people who disagree, and he never comes off (to any of us, at least) as condescending or superior. You know how hard it is to do that on Twitter? It’s practically meant to incite petty back-and-forth replies between people, but the Hulk always remains a gentleman. Good on you, Hulk.
Recent Great Tweets
Again, it’s hard to pick out just a few samples of the tweets that demonstrate what makes Film Crit Hulk so great. Instead we have to look at
For example, here’s a great tangent in which he outlines his thoughts about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is dong well enough to get a full season order but not so well that it’s really
OKAY! 3 EPISODES IN WITH S.H.I.E.L.D. THE PROBLEM ISN’T SO MUCH THAT THE SHOW DOESN’T KNOW WHAT IT IS YET…

Film Crit Hulk also really enjoys playing hashtag games with his followers, and will usually retweet the best responses he finds. At the time of writing, he’s currently doing one where he asks everyone to list a #superunderratedperformance in a movie.
