Now that we’re officially in the midst of PAX East, it’s time for some juicy gaming tidbits to start spilling. First on the docket: Square Enix has officially confirmed that the previously announced Final Fantasy X HD, which everyone knew was coming to PlayStation Vita, will also be hitting the PlayStation 3, and it’ll be bundled with a remastered version of Final Fantasy X-2 as well. Also, yes, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a horrible title.
Not that Square Enix is any stranger to horrible titles — Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, I’m looking at you. This one is just particularly heinous.
There’s no official release date, and fans have been waiting for the Final Fantasy X remaster since 2011, but the PlayStation blog indicates that the game bundle is set to drop this year. As a wee bit of speculation, we’re most likely to see this sometime in November. Anything to push Vita console sales, where the two games will actually appear separately.
Why they chose to wait on pushing an actual announcement trailer until Monday is beyond me, but that’s what they’ve done. It’s entirely possible that it’s not yet ready to see, since this might have all been sped up thanks to rumors and leaks about the game earlier this week.
