Shooting has begun on Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters—notably starring four women as the ghost-busting team plus one Thor as their receptionist—and you know what that means: set photos. We finally have our first look at the all new Ghostbusters, and they sure look like Ghostbusters, contrary to the expectations set up by lots of Internet whining about the cast.
Take a look at the pics from the set in boston:

Kate McKinnon is a walking lesson in visual comedy and characterization as she chases after Melissa McCarthy here, and I love everything about it. I know it’s just one image and look, but it has me very optimistic about Feig’s reboot recapturing the perfect offbeat humor of the original.

Wait a minute, is that Kristen Wiig… in a wig? Is it… WIGCEPTION? (It might also be her real hair. I’m actually terrible at knowing the difference, but could not resist the dad pun.)

And the look of comedic seriousness on those faces as they rush to probably trap some ghosts, though.
There’s also this Instagram video from the outside of what looks like some kind of science/invention convention based on the banners above the door.
Maybe they’re rushing from busting ghosts to present their paranormal research while covered in ghost goop or something else equally Ghostbuster-y? There’s admittedly little to go on with just these images, but they’re right in line with what we’d expect from a Ghostbusters movie, and we can’t wait to see more. We’ll let you know if any more cross our streams paths.
