Emma Watson stars in the upcoming film Colonia, which proves that sometimes women have to quest to save dudes in distress. Check out the intense trailer above!

Colonia, directed by Florian Gallenberger, stars Watson as a woman named Lena who, along with her love Daniel (Daniel Brühl), gets caught up in the 1973 military coup in Chile. Daniel is abducted by the military government’s secret police, and Lena tracks him down to a place called Colonia Dignidad, which is supposed to be a charitable mission run by a lay preacher (Michael Nyqvist), but is actually a cult from which no one emerges. Lena then joins the cult to get Daniel out.

So this is totally a light, popcorn flick, amirite?

Colonia will be released in Germany in January, but doesn’t yet have a US release set. What do you think of Colonia? Will you be checking it out when it’s finally released here?
