It makes for a nice headline, that’s for sure. The CW’s The Flash has added Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, aka Heat Wave – which is hilarious when you remember they cast his Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold in JulyThe Hollywood Reporter says Miller will make “his debut in episode four. Purcell’s character will also be heard from in that same episode.” Although we will be seeing people with superpowers on The Flash, both of these characters are non-powered villains.

The Flash news is also compounded when you remember Prison Break actor Robert Knepper played the Clock King on Arrow last season and Peter Stormare will be playing Count Vertigo in Season 3. We are totally ramping up to a Rogues crossover, aren’t we?

Meanwhile, on the Arrow front, Amy Gumenick has been cast as Carrie Cutter (aka Cupid), a DC character completely obsessed with Oliver. “I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan,” producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. “When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

I’m happy Kreisberg is getting to use the character he created for the Green Arrow/Black Canary comic, but this particular one always rubbed me the wrong way.

Other love-related things will be happening this season, as well. Felicity’s ex-boyfriend is joining the gang in the form of Glee actor Nolan Funk in the episode “Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” TV Line says he’s playing “Cooper Seldon, the IT gal’s hacker boyfriend from her days at MIT.” Felicity is also said to have a love-interest in Ray Palmer for the upcoming season, which makes this recent clip all the more interesting.

Finally, Ra’s al Ghul has been namedropped on Arrow several times, as the League of Assassins has played a large role, but the man himself is presumably going to show up soon if this teaser was any indicationMTV News decided to ask Liam Neeson, Christopher Nolan’s Ra’s, if he’d be down for reprising his role. He said he had not been approached to do so but, “I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah, very much so.”
