Normally I’d be all, “Aw, that’s cute, look at this police department actually doing something fun and engaging with social media” But at the time of writing it is currently a higher temperature in McMurdo, Antartica than it is in New York City. So I am unironically with you, Harlan City Police Department. Incarceration is too good for this despicable traitor. Someone fetch Ilyn Payne!

Harlan, Kentucky is generally accustomed to hot, humid summers and mild, cool winters. So the recent storm that dropped a foot of snow in some parts of the state and lowered the temperatures down to 13 degrees Fahrenheit has ruffled more than a few feathers over there, which is why the local police department decided to post this:

Then, a little later after the story got picked up by local news outlets, they changed directions to remind everybody that oh yeah, snow is for real dangerous:

“We had to have a little fun after this week’s weather,” they said in another post. “But as a reminder, do take the precautions you need to keep you, your friends, family, neighbors and pets safe during the snow queen’s mad spell.”

Uh, excuse me, mad queen? Well… now I’m just picturing the police chief as the duke of Weselton.
