Gal Gadot on Wonder Woman & Batman: “Their Arc Works Really Well Together.” Their… Arc?

All you WonderBat shippers out there just got a reason to buy an advance ticket for Batman v Superman, because Gal Gadot’s latest interview about the characters seems to imply a romance — or, at least, that’s what the WonderBat fandom wants to believe, based on this quote from Gadot at the end of the video above.

I think that although Batman is a very dark, weary character, and Diana is pure and optimistic and these kind of things — they have a lot in common. They share a lot. I think that’s why their arc works really well together. And it’s really interesting. Because both of them are trying to isolate themselves from the mankind world, in some kind of way.

The video cuts off right after that sentence, just as Gadot takes a breath to say more … almost as though something got cut out of the video. Whatever else she was about to say about these two, we’ll just have to wait and see what the movie brings.

I would think Wonder Woman would feel like she had more in common with Superman as opposed to Batman — which I guess is why Superman/Wonder Woman exists canonically, whereas Batman/ Wonder Woman “briefly dated” but never got serious. But that doesn’t mean we’ve never seen hints at this sort of thing in the past:

When it comes to Batman v Superman, we have seen some glimpses of Diana and Bruce meeting one another in the trailer, and we also know that when Gal Gadot auditioned for this role, she read a scene with Ben Affleck and assumed it was for Catwoman — and Gadot even described some of WW’s lines as “naughty.” Put all of that together and you can understand why the WonderBat fandom has begun to perk up their ears about this film.

What do you think? Does that possibility make you more interested in the movie … or less? I’d much rather see a platonic relationship between Bats and Diana rather than anything more, but I’m not necessarily opposed to this idea if it’s done well. That said, I’m still nursing my disappointment about Barbara Gordon getting cut out of this movie, so it would take a lot to get me re-interested in BvS.
