In this week’s episode of The Geek’s Guide to Dating web series, George and Nicole encourage us to stop looking for someone who shares all of our exact and often extremely specific interests. Instead, Nicole wants us to look for a person we can expose to our interests and have the joy of sharing our separate worlds as we become adorable geek couples.

It’s an incredibly poignant thing to say in the world of geekdom, where those who know more about a subject often have a tendency to shoot others down instead of helping them learn more about the things they love.

The Geek’s Guide to Dating is a book written by Geekosystem contributor Eric Smith and recently placed #20 on Amazon’s list of best humor books of 2013, but make no mistake, this book is serious business. Check back weekly for a new episode of its web series, which has interviews with all kinds of geek couples from bloggers to filmmakers.
