We’re back with another episode of the Geekosystem Podcast! This time we overcame some technical difficulties, but Dan couldn’t overcome his train schedule so he is a ghost in this episode. Glen and Victoria discuss science, television, and more.

There was some confusion over the weekend due to Europe and North America being a week out of sync with rolling back the clocks for Daylight Savings Time. We talk about this and some other unforeseen problems with a globally connected Internet world, but ultimately blame Daylight Savings Time for being a dumb, antiquated system. Then Glen and Victoria both try to prove the other one wrong about hypothetically being late for something, and never really settle on who’s right. (Editor’s Note: Glen’s right. – Glen)

We also talk about our $10 microscope rig, and thank our friends at I F—ing Love Science for sharing it. You can see photos from our microscope setup here.

As for this week’s Editors’ Picks, Victoria recommends Attack on Titan, an anime about giant titans who eat people. The Internet seems to love it, and so does Victoria. You can catch it on Hulu.

Glen thinks everyone should check out the MaximumFun.org podcast Sawbones, which is a medical history show hosted by the married team of Dr. Sydnee McElroy and her husband Justin McElroy from the podcast My Brother, My Brother, and Me. It’s a weekly look at the terrible ways in which people have tried to solve medical problems throughout history.

Glen and Victoria also discuss the idea of bad television as good television using Sleepy Hollow and Arrow as examples. Does the fact that Sleepy Hollow has a completely ridiculous premise and no concept of who spoke what language in what century mean you can’t enjoy it? Has Arrow gotten better in its second season, or has Glen just gotten used to it?

As always, our theme music is “Theme for Harold (var. 3)” by Kevin MacLeod. Thanks for listening. Now go do a thing.
