What do you get when you cross the remains of a dismembered guitar with an Arduino powered robotic glockenspiel and a light projector? In the interest of full disclosure, we’ve never had occasion to ask ourselves that question. We have an answer to it today, though, and the answer is glockentar, a musical chimera of bells, circuits, strings, and lights that…you know what? Just check out the video. It’s one of those “you have to see it for yourself” things.
Okay, we officially want one, even if we’re probably — okay, definitely — not bright enough to put one together on our own. If you are interested and smarter than us, though — that’s no great feat, we assure you — you can take a look at some of inventor Aaron Sherwood’s notes on the project, including the Arduino code needed to make it all go. Play on, everybody.
