GoldieBlox, a company that strives to make “toys, games, and media to give girls confidence in themselves and in STEM” released the video to celebrate some of the awesome feminist role models of 2015. As part of Fast-Forward Girls, they’ve dressed up 10 young girls (who are “mini-superstars” in their own fields) as a grown-up role model in politics, entertainment, sports, and STEM. And it’s all set to Sophia Grace’s voice and Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It.”
Fair warning: I started tearing up about the time that mini Viola Davis showed up and I actually can’t stop smile-crying at this video. The girl power is overwhelming. Here’s the list of the girls who took part (If anyone knows more about Irelynd, Foxy, Brook’lyn, or Zoe let me know!):
Sophia Grace as narrator and herself.
Irelynd as Amy Schumer: #iLookLikeAComedian
RadioJH Audrey as Hillary Clinton: #iLookLikeAPresident
Jillian of EvantubeRAW as Ruth Bader Ginsburg: #iLookLikeAJustice
Annie and Hayley of Bratayley (and more) as Isis Anchalee: #iLookLikeAnEngineer
Brook’lyn as Beyoncé: #iLookLikeAnEntrepreneur and Foxy as Nicki Minaj: #iLookLikeASuperstar
Sam Gordon as Jen Welter: #iLookLikeAnNFLCoach
Zoe as Viola Davis: #iLookLikeAnEmmyWinner
Heaven King as Misty Copeland: #iLookLikeAPrincipalBallerina
Abby Wambach of Flippin’ Katie as Abby Wambach: #iLookLikeAWorldChampion
You can read about the girls here and the women they’re dressed as here! The “making of” video is also super cute, Heaven King’s dancing and the fun they had on set just melts my heart. What did you think about GlodieBlox’s video?
