Cardiovascular disease isn’t just a thing dudes can get. To raise awareness for women’s heart and health problems, The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women program has launched the #GoRedSelfie contest.

To support the movement to end heart disease and stokes in women, all you have to do is tweet or instagram a photo of your gorgeous self while wearing something red, and tag it with #GoRedSelfie. Then, you’ll get an autoreply, to which you must respond back in order to be eligible. You can enter once a day until February 28th, and you could win a $500 Macy’s gift card.

In light of this contest, I’d like to also remind everyone of this great educational post about the signs of a heart attack for a woman—it’s not all left arm pain for ladies.

Heart disease and stroke cause one in every three women’s deaths each year, and about 43 million women in the US suffer from heart disease. Raise awareness with your own selfie, and do something nice for your heart today.
