It’s good news for Warner Bros. TV and DC this week, as Fox has made an official series order for the Gotham Batman origin TV show. They’ve also got a new trailer for us, so we can all finally see how Gotham is shaping up. There’s even plenty of Bruce Wayne in there if you were worried they’d try to make a Batman show with no Batman.

If they’ve already got the footage of Gordon consoling him, it looks like the show will start at the logical place for any Batman story: the death of Bruce’s parents. Let’s just hope it doesn’t wind up feeling like the first half of Batman Begins stretched to cover multiple TV seasons. The show certainly seems aware that it needs to ratchet up the drama. I mean, just listen to all that Inception-button they’re pressing during the trailer. That’s how you know dramatic things are happening.
