The classic ’80s TV hit The Greatest American Hero is apparently returning to television thanks to Fox, Deadline reports. In case you weren’t aware, the show focuses on a run of the mill teacher who inherits a super-powered red suit from aliens but loses the instructions on how to use it. He ends up discovering the powers built into the suit mostly through slapstick goofball trial and error. It’s (hopefully going to be) a nice, lighter side to the grimdark gritty superhero stuff we’ve been seeing a lot of lately.
Behind the revival are some names that you might recognize: Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo behind The LEGO Movie, are slated to produce, and Rick Famuyiwa, Dope director/writer, is set to write.
Anyway, here’s the moment I’m sure you’ve all been waiting for: the classic The Greatest American Hero theme song. Enjoy.
