We first learned about Marvel’s animated Guardians of the Galaxy show when they announced it back in October, and over the past few days they’ve been teasing out the cast for these misfit heroes one by one. If these actors are any indication, this show is going to be pretty damn great.

Playing the fan-favorite Groot is Kevin Michael Richardson, who’s worked in animation and video games for more than twenty years and has a strong list of credits ranging from the Joker in The Batman to Bishop on Wolverine and the X-Men.

As for Groot’s partner in crime, Rocket Raccoon’s voice will be played by Trevor Devall. He has some experience playing Rocket already, specifically in an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man that featured the Guardians. He’s also voiced some anime characters in Death Note and Gundam SEED Destiny, as well as other animated roles in X-Men: Evolution and the Bionicle trilogy.

The new Star-Lord will be voiced by Will Friedle—yup, Corey’s older brother Eric from Disney’s Boy Meets World. Friedle also has a pretty solid voice acting resume, with big roles in Batman Beyond, Kim Possible, and Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

Drax the Destroyer will be voiced by David Sobolov, who already played the role of the warrior before in Ultimate Spider-Man,  Avengers Assemble, and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH.

Last but not least is Gamora. The assassin and daughter of Thanos will be played by Vanessa Marshall, who’s already taken on roles in Marvel’s universe on shows like Avengers Assemble, Avengers: Earths’ Mightiest Heroes and The Spectacular Spider-Man. She also voices Hera Syndulla in Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels, and (to get a shameless plug in) she was a guest on The Mary Sue’s “Strong Female Characters” panel at New York Comic Con in 2014.

The show will premiere later this year on Disney XD. Who’s excited?
