With so much discussion of transgender issues currently happening in mainstream media, it’s important to jump on any and all opportunities to educate. For the students at the University of Birmingham in the UK, that means supplying the men’s room with tampons.

The Guild of Students, the student union at U of Birmingham, apparently has boxes of tampons in the men’s rooms with the above sign on them, reminding people that gender and genitalia have nothing to do with each other, and that sometimes people who have periods need to use the men’s room. This all being part of a larger “Free Periods” campaign at the school, providing necessary period supplies free of charge to all students who need them.

Bravo, students! Organizations and businesses with public bathrooms everywhere, take note.
